The legendary and oppressive heat of Sacramento in summer has not descended on us yet this year. It's breezy and pleasant, and I'm loving it. Of course, the breeze is the enemy of the macro photographer, so there is that downside, but I'll find something else to do until the breeze goes away.
Next week my itty-bitty book group (just three members) is meeting at my house. We are a very strange group. We never discuss the book, although each of us is pretty good about doing the reading. For some reason, we continue to cling to the idea that we are a book discussion group. It used to bother me, but now I accept that this is just the way we are. Acceptance makes life a whole lot easier. It has taken me a very, very long time to figure this out. Anyway, the book we chose to read (but won't discuss) is Cutting for Stone by Abraham Vergiese. This is the best novel I've read in at least ten years. Really wonderful writing. If you're looking for something to dig into this summer, I recommend this novel. Completely engaging.
It has been a season of software purchases. Finally bought PS CS4, Lightroom2, Photomatix, and onOne's Photoshop Plug-in Suite 4.5. I am now very poor. Ah, well.
Be well, all of you.
